How To Podcast

I have typed up instructions for myself (and anyone else to use) to follow as I podcast. Note the disclaimer, I am new to this, but for those of you that are new as well, every bit of help..... well, helps!

It is a PDF hosted on Libsyn.com

A Format Change?

I have looked at a number of edu blogs and I decided to change my format. Originally, I planned to use it as a resource for teachers so we could network on how to blog and podcast, sharing ideas and knowledge. After seeing so many blogs, and really liking some, especially
http://tamakitoday.blogspot.com/ , I have decided to convert "My blog" into "Our Blog" and make it more student centred. I will include their posts and podcasts. It will display what we are doing in the class and around the school.

Four more days and the students return from summer vacation. Yipee!

The Media Classroom

I thought this clip was interesting. Although he talks about college students, the ideas are transferable to primary students. (Or are they?)

I will embed the video later, but for now, here is the link:

What it is we need is...

A group of Grade 4 boys put together this podcast to ask for more sports equipment. They had fun and did a great job. They came up with some great reasons.

Advocating for themselves

Some Grade 5 students came up with some ideas that could help struggling learners ensure success on tests. I really liked watching them develop the ideas and work together to advocate for themselves. Well done!

Let's begin

Greetings all, and welcome to the blog for kids. It is going to begin as an experimental location where I learn along with my students. I hope to engage them in some interesting, "new literacy" learning.

We will experiment with wiki's, podcasts, fan fiction... any suggestions? Bring on the Web 2.0. Now if I can only figure out how to log in again.

N.B. for now, we will remain anonymous.
